Samantha Ashman and Ellie Scott hit the road for a mini college tour, excited to support our wonderful FE customers during one of the busiest times of the year.
Their first stop was Leeds City College – Printworks Campus, kicking off the day with coffee and delightful conversation. “It was a real pleasure to meet Clayton Scott, the new Head of Engineering," said Ellie. "A big thank you to staff for the invite, and for sharing their invaluable insights."
Next up was Leeds College of Building, where our dream team dropped off the new EAL curriculum planning brochure, before making their final stop at Wakefield College – Castleford Campus.
It’s always a joy to connect with our customers, and to witness the fantastic work happening in engineering and building services in the region. If you’d like to catch up with the Customer Success team, our lines are always open and we’d love to drop by for a cuppa!
How T Level students are helping plug the skills gap and adding real value at Lyndhurst Precision
Lancashire-based engineering firm Lyndhurst Precision was struggling to recruit new staff during a busy period. After partnering with their local college, they brought on their first cohort of T Level students. Since then, the students have played an essential role in the team, taking on real-world tasks such as maintenance work, fixing electrical components, milling, turning, fabrication and fitting.
“If each company in the industry took on just one student, we could all benefit,” says Technical Manager Andy Wilding. “I’d recommend taking on T Level students to any business – you can’t go wrong.”
