EAL work with City Guilds as the delivery partner for Generation 1 of the Engineering & Manufacturing and Construction & Building Services Engineering T Level technical qualifications. Following a competitive tendering process by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE), WJEC Eduqas, in partnership with EAL, have been awarded the contract to develop and deliver the next generation of T Levels in Building Services Engineering for Construction, and Onsite Construction.
T Levels were introduced in September 2021 for Construction & Building Services Engineering and September 2022 for Engineering & Manufacturing as the main technical qualification options for 16 to 19-year-old students.
They are a two-year programme providing an alternative to apprenticeships and A Levels. T Levels are a Level 3 qualification; one T Level is roughly equivalent to three A Levels. These qualifications are intended to lead to skilled employment opportunities, apprenticeships, further qualifications or higher education courses.
T Levels have been developed with employers and they continue to be involved by reviewing programme content and assessments regularly. This ensures that T Level programmes equip learners with the skills and knowledge required to successfully join the workforce within their chosen sector or trade.
T Levels are available in England only and will become one of the main choices for learners after GCSEs, alongside apprenticeships and A Levels.
