The EAL Level 3 SVQ in Rail Engineering: Signalling and Telecoms at SCQF Level 6 is a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ). It involves the skills and knowledge needed to work within Rail Engineering Signalling and Telecoms Installation and Maintenance at SCQF Level 6, including the ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems.
This qualification contains pathways for the installation, maintenance, fault finding and system testing of both signalling and telecoms equipment. The minimum age for entry is 18.
This qualification is for individuals who work in the rail engineering industry and need recognition of their competence in signalling and telecoms and also need a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF level 6 or individuals who wish to complete a Modern Apprenticeship in rail engineering or those who are new to railway engineering signalling and telecoms but are looking for a career change and wish to develop and expand on their existing skills within the rail engineering industry.
