This qualification has been designed to support a learner’s development and build their proficiency in engineering skills that will be transferable across contexts. It does this by offering a range of optional units.
It is important to note that learners registering on this qualification should have achieved the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) OR undertake the specified PEO Level 2 skills units as detailed within the rules of combination for this qualification. All Level 2 PEO unit assessments must be completed before being learners are assessed against the Level 3 skills units. No evidence pertaining to the Level 2 skills units may be used towards the Level 3 skills units or vice versa. The Level 2 learning should provide a solid foundation from which a learner can develop their skills and MUST be completed first.
Achievement of this qualification will enable learners to progress to the EAL Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Advanced Engineering Manufacture (Skills). The units have been selected by employers and industry - based organisations to recognise the needs of industry and to offer the opportunity for a flexible access route into the sector at this level.
This NVQ Qualification is gained when all the necessary units have been achieved. The centre will then be able to apply for the learner’s NVQ certificate of achievement. The learner will also receive a certificate of unit credit, listing all the units they have achieved.
Should a learner not complete the full qualification, a certificate of unit credit for the units achieved may be claimed. This will mean that learners will still have proof of their ability as accredited prior learning and could complete one of the NVQ qualifications at a later date.
Units can also be taken individually (stand‐alone units). This specification must be used in conjunction with the delivery and assessment of any individual units to ensure that assessment requirements and methodologies are consistently applied.
As an approved centre, you can deliver recognised EAL qualifications to your learners, and receive ongoing support from our team.
