The EAL Level 2 Diploma in Applied STEM for Digital Engineering mixes disciplines that normally reside in Information Technology, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical and Science sectors.
Progression from this qualification will lead into the workplace and other qualifications within EAL’s qualification offering.
This qualification is aimed predominantly at learners interested in both computing and engineering who prefer a practical way of learning. It is designed to give the learner the practical skills and understanding to take them to their next level of study within the engineering and computing disciplines.
It provides the opportunity for the learner to take a hands-on approach to developing knowledge and understanding of a range of disciplines such as Electronics, Automation, Microprocessors, Networking and Cyber manufacturing processes (CAD).
Unit assessment projects will be developed by the delivery centre, and learner suggestions and ideas can be included in the Project unit. There are also support materials, developed by EAL, available to approved EAL Centres if required.
The EAL Level 2 Diploma in Applied STEM for Digital Engineering will be awarded when the learner has successfully completed all seven mandatory units. These are: Introduction to Technology and the Workplace; Electronics for Applications; Introduction to Industrial Controllers; Practical Controllers; Introduction to Manufacturing Technologies; Introduction to Industrial Cyber Security; Project.
The learner will also receive a certificate of unit credit, listing each unit they have achieved.
This qualification is graded; successful learners can achieve a Pass, Merit or Distinction. For further details, please refer to Section 8 of the Qualification Manual.
