EAL is proud to announce their support for the newly launched Get the Nation Learning campaign, a national movement that aims to turn the tide after over a decade of decline in lifelong learning. Led by the Learning and Work Institute (L&W), the campaign calls on employers, institutions, and policymakers to back adult education as a critical support for economic growth and social mobility.
The campaign launch follows new research from L&W, commissioned by Phoenix Insights, which shows clear links between adult learning and improved employment outcomes. With the Government aiming for an 80% employment rate and greater economic participation, the evidence points to lifelong learning as a key strategy to get there, particularly for those with lower qualifications, or not in work, education or training.
Alison Parkes, Managing Director of EAL, comments: “Signing the Get the Nation Learning Charter reinforces EAL’s deep commitment to lifelong learning. As the specialist awarding organisation for engineering and manufacturing, we know that skills development isn’t a one-off, it’s a career-long journey. We're proud to support this campaign and continue our work helping individuals and employers gain the qualifications they need to thrive in a fast-changing world."
EAL joins a growing coalition of charter signatories, including Enginuity, Channel 4, Make UK, the National Housing Federation, and the Association of Colleges. The charter is a call to action urging organisations to champion learning across all stages of life and work.
As a leading awarding organisation, EAL ensures that engineers and engineering and manufacturing employers have the right skills, at the right time, to keep up with changing industry needs and the net-zero transition.
Get the Nation Learning is a timely reminder that learning goes beyond school or college, and EAL remains committed to supporting industry through changing demands.
